The Wakulla County Welcome Center in Panacea marks the site of a turn of the Century resort community. In the early 1900s, visitors traveled from across the country, and as far away as Europe, to “take in” the healing waters of the renowned Panacea Mineral Springs. Step inside the Welcome Center to see pictures of the mule powered tram car that carried travelers to this spot, and other classic photos from the past.
Step outside to the deck overlooking Dickerson Bay and experience the natural world of Wakulla. Enjoy a panoramic view of sky, pine forests, salt marsh and sea. Glimpse a majestic eagle soaring overhead. Watch a stately heron foraging in the shallows. Let the warm Gulf breezes blow your cares away.
The Wakulla County Welcome Center is located on Coastal Highway 98 in the small waterfront community of Panacea, Florida, across from the historic Mineral Springs.
